How Much Does A Website Cost In Johor Bahru?

“How much is a website?” is the first question we get asked in Johor Bahru, usually on WhatsApp, usually before anyone has said what the website is for. The honest answer is “it depends”, but that is not a useful answer, so this guide gives you the actual numbers: the typical market ranges in JB, what pushes a quote up or down, and what we charge.

Every price here is in Malaysian Ringgit. Where we quote market ranges, they are typical ranges from publicly listed prices of Johor Bahru and Malaysian agencies, not audited figures, so treat them as a guide rather than a rule.

The Three Kinds Of Website Most JB Businesses Need

Almost every quote we write falls into one of three buckets.

A one-page website. One long page that introduces the business, shows what you do, answers the common questions and ends with a WhatsApp button or an enquiry form. Right for a new café, a renovation contractor, a tuition centre, a consultant or anyone running ads to a single offer.

A business website. Five to ten pages: home, about, a page for each service, maybe a gallery or a blog, and a contact page. Right for clinics, law and accounting firms, manufacturers, property agencies and any business with more than one service to explain.

An e-commerce website. Products, a cart, FPX or card payment, shipping and order emails. Right for retail shops selling across Malaysia and into Singapore, and for F&B brands selling packaged goods.

Once you know which bucket you are in, the price range narrows a lot.

Typical Market Ranges In Johor Bahru

These are the typical market ranges we see in JB, grouped by who you are buying from.

One-page website. Freelancers and template builders: roughly RM 300 to RM 1,500. Johor Bahru agencies: roughly RM 900 to RM 2,800. Full-service or boutique studios: RM 3,000 to RM 8,000.

Business website (five to ten pages). Freelancers and templates: roughly RM 700 to RM 3,000. JB agencies: roughly RM 3,500 to RM 8,000. Corporate and boutique work: RM 7,000 to RM 16,000.

E-commerce website. Template builds: roughly RM 3,000 to RM 7,000. JB agencies: roughly RM 8,000 to RM 18,000. Custom or integrated stores: RM 15,000 to RM 40,000, and well beyond that once an ERP or warehouse system is involved.

Subscription websites. Some agencies rent you a website instead of selling it. Typical market pricing is roughly RM 199 to RM 379 a month, with contract-based plans at RM 479 a month and up, often on a 12-month term.

JB prices tend to sit a little below Kuala Lumpur and well below Singapore. For the same business website, a Singapore studio will usually quote three to five times the JB figure, which is one reason Singapore companies increasingly ask a Johor team to build for them.

What Moves The Price Up Or Down

Two websites with the same number of pages can be quoted RM 3,000 apart. Here is what usually explains the gap.

Design: template or custom. A template is quicker and cheaper, and it looks like a template. A custom design costs more because someone has to think about your customers, your photos and your layout.

Copywriting. Many quotes assume you will supply the words. If you want the agency to write them, expect that to be a line item. It is worth paying for; the words are what persuade people.

Photography. Stock photos are free or cheap. A half-day shoot at your café, clinic or showroom is an extra cost but makes the website yours.

Languages. A Bahasa Malaysia version typically adds RM 1,200 to RM 3,000 in the JB market, and a Chinese version RM 1,800 to RM 3,500, because every page is written and laid out twice.

Integrations. WhatsApp click-to-chat is simple. Online booking, table reservations, menu ordering, CRM connections and payment gateways each add work. Typical JB add-on pricing for WhatsApp plus booking is RM 1,000 to RM 2,800.

Who is doing the work. A one-person freelancer has lower costs than a team with a designer, a developer and someone answering your messages. Both can be right; the question is who will still be there in two years when you need a change.

What happens after launch. Hosting, a domain, security updates and backups are ongoing. Shared hosting starts at roughly RM 40 a month in the market, a domain at RM 60 to RM 150 a year, and basic maintenance at RM 100 to RM 300 a month. Ask whether these are included or extra.

What We Charge At Ditrapoint

We publish our prices, so you can compare without a sales call. Every project starts with a fixed price quote, and you pay 50% to start and 50% on launch.

  • One Page Website: from RM 1,288, one-time, live within 1–3 days of receiving your content.
  • Full Website: a business website in three sizes, Small (up to 5–8 pages) from RM 2,888, Medium (8–20 pages) from RM 3,888 and Large (20+ pages) from RM 4,888, one-time, live within 3–7 days of receiving your content. Three instalments are available on request above RM 5,000.
  • E-Commerce Website: from RM 6,888, one-time.
  • Website Subscription: RM 128 a month, fixed, for a one-page website, with no minimum term. It is open to Malaysian businesses only.

After launch, hosting starts from RM 48 a month, maintenance from RM 100 a month, or the combined Hosting & Maintenance Plan from RM 128 a month with one, two or four hours of edits included. Extra work is RM 120 an hour, quoted first above two hours.

Those are real starting prices, not teasers. You are paying for a custom design, copy written around your customers, WhatsApp and tracking connected on day one, and a team that answers within 12 hours. The full list is on our pricing page.

Subscription Or One-Off: Which Is Better?

This is the second question we get asked, and the answer depends on your cash and your plans.

Pay once if you have the budget and want to own the website outright. Over three years, a RM 1,288 one-page website plus Single Site hosting at RM 48 a month comes to RM 3,016 if you make your own edits, or RM 5,896 with the 1-hour Hosting & Maintenance Plan at RM 128 a month. You own everything from day one and can take it anywhere.

Subscribe if you are starting out, want to keep cash for stock, fit-out or ads, or simply prefer one predictable bill. Our subscription is RM 128 a month for a one-page website, with hosting, security, backups and one hour of edits included, for Malaysian businesses. Over the same three years that is RM 4,608, and you can cancel any time or buy the website out later.

Neither is a trick. The subscription costs nothing upfront and includes the edits; paying once costs more today, costs less over the years if you are happy to edit the site yourself, and lets you grow beyond one page. Pick the one that matches where your business is right now.

Questions To Ask Before You Pay Anyone

Whoever you choose, ask these before transferring a deposit:

  1. Is the domain registered in my name?
  2. Will I have full access to the website and hosting accounts?
  3. What exactly is included: how many pages, how many revisions, who writes the copy?
  4. What does it cost per month after launch?
  5. What happens if I want to leave?

A good agency in Johor Bahru will answer all five in writing. If any answer is vague, the price is not the real price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Get A Website In Johor Bahru For Under RM 1,000?

Yes, on a template or a do-it-yourself builder, and for some side projects that is enough. What you usually give up is a custom design, proper on-page SEO for your area and someone to call when it breaks. If the website is meant to bring in customers, budget for a custom build or look at a monthly subscription instead.

Do I Have To Pay For The Website Every Year?

The build is paid once. What repeats is the domain, renewed yearly with your registrar, and hosting. Our hosting plans start from RM 48 a month, billed annually, and the Website Subscription at RM 128 a month already includes hosting, security and edits.

How Long Does A Website Take To Build?

Once we have your content and photos, a one-page website goes live within 1–3 days, and a business website or an online store within 3–7 days. The timeline is confirmed with your fixed price quote.
